There is no doubting the influence that the states has had on the world, and continues to have through modern day culture. With movies, television series and celebrities, people from around the world know a little bit about the US, with many tourist making a visit to Hollywood or one of the many US theme parks as a must do item on their travel list.

There are of course many must do destinations and attractions on a travellers itinerary, from the bright lights of the big city such as New York and Las Vegas, to natural attractions such as the ‘Grand Canyon State’ of Arizona and Yellowstone National Park of Montana.
 

North America borders both the North Atlantic Ocean (on the east) and the North Pacific Ocean (on the west), with Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. There are 50 states in the USA, one district - District of Columbia (Washington DC) and a number of dependent areas such as the US Virgin Islands and Guam.

Places to See and Things to Do in the United States of America
When planning to visit the US, it is not surprising that there is plenty to see and do, in fact this vast country is spoilt for choices, with something for everyone. Whether you want to visit some of their wonderful cities, magnificent natural attractions, theme parks and amusement parks, famous landmarks, and scenic drives, visitors to the US are spoilt for choices.

Natural Attractions

  • Niagara Falls USA
    Since its formation more than 12,000 years ago, the magnificent Niagara Falls has a rich human heritage dating back hundreds of years when the Falls were first discovered by French explorer Father Louis Hennepin in December 1678. The birthplace of commercial hydro-electric power, in Niagara USA, Nikola Tesla developed the alternating current system, which allowed for the transmission of power generated along the Niagara River to homes and businesses. In 1895 one of the world’s first commercial hydropower plants was constructed. Today, travellers from around the world come to be awe-inspired by the beauty and power of Niagara Falls - must see destination for honeymooners and daredevils alike.

Theme Parks

  • Cedar Point
    One of the most popular amusement parks for thrill ride seekers is in Sandusky. Cedar Point is located on the northern tip of Ohio, which calls itself the roller coast capital of the world. The park boast over 15 roller coasters, thrill rides, family rides, kids rides and water rides. There is Dinosaurs Alive!, Soak City Waterpark, Challenge Park, live shows, resort style accommodation and the Cedar Point Beach.

  • New York City
    New York City, The ‘Big Apple’ is one of those popular destinations for both Americans and international visitors. Being home to a number of world famous US icons and attractions, visitors are spoilt for choice, with places like the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Times Square and Grand Central Terminal being just some of the must see things and activities in New York City.
